" With the correct personalised nutritional and lifestyle changes, improved health and wellbeing are always possible.

My clients show me this every day.

I am grateful for their commitment, courage and curiosity "

Silvia Grisendi

Registered Nutritional Therapist &
Functional Medicine Practitioner

About my work

By applying the functional medicine approach to nutritional therapy, I provide personalised support across a range of health needs, with a special focus on metabolic, hormonal and inflammatory conditions.

I help my clients understand the root causes of their symptoms, and empower them to create the conditions for health by using bespoke nutritional, lifestyle and mind-body solutions.

PLEASE NOTE: as a holistic therapist and non-medic I do not claim to treat any disease, instead I focus on creating optimal conditions for the body’s own powerful healing abilities to function.

my Background

Following a Masters degree in Molecular Biology and a PhD in Human Oncology, I started my career as a scientist at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York (my publications), and then joined the Nature Publishing Group as an Associate Editor in London, before leaving scientific publishing and qualifying as a Nutritional Therapist at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London in 2014.

I continued my education and obtained the NTEC accredited professional training in Nutrition and Cancer in 2016 from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London, and completed specialist NTEC approved training in cancer support through Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel's Systems Approach To Cancer course, where the aim is to support clients before, during and after cancer treatment safely and effectively with a whole person systems approach. This type of additional post-graduation training set the standard in cancer nutrition education in the UK.

I have completed my Functional Medicine Practitioner Certification at the Functional Medicine University. I love the opportunity my job gives me to keep developing my knowledge and skills, through both formal learning and research

A Holistic Approach to Health

It was my deep interest in health and the innate intelligence of the human body that guided me to embrace naturopathic clinical practice, after witnessing the extraordinary difference that a holistic natural approach to health and lifestyle can make for individuals suffering with chronic conditions.

After several years in clinical practice, I now understand more than ever how the health of the body is closely intertwined with our mental and emotional health. I understand how, when dis-ease is present, emotional support can be as important as looking after all the crucial physical aspects. So I practice with attention to the person as a whole, looking at the root causes of health issues in all the key aspects of life: body, mind, and spirit.

Having worked with many clients living with serious illnesses over the years has opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of what we need as human beings in order to ‘heal’.  I believe that each one of us holds the power to true healing, if we are willing to look within and listen to our deepest needs, clear our emotional wounds, and live life from our authentic nature.
