Healing From Within: The Power of Self-Trust in Your Pathway to Health

When health and healing need more than a plan (even if it is a fabulous plan) - the missing piece in my whole-person approach to health.
With the help of a great functional medicine practitioner you can dive deep into the science of the body to address physiological imbalances through highly personalised plans.
Does it work? In my time I have seen countless motivated clients experiencing impressive improvements. And... I have seen cases where the person struggled to bring the recommendations to life.
And here is what I deeply care about, after many years and working with hundreds of clients, and based on my own personal experience: sometimes there are factors beyond the ‘physical’ issues that a purely clinical approach can’t fully address.
These are circumstances or internal states that can influence our capacity to implement a health plan, to truly change unwanted behaviours, or to experience meaningful health improvements even when we try our best.

In some cases the obstacles are conscious and visible, for example an unsupportive living environment, high stress levels, lack of time, etc.
But in other cases the obstacles sit deeper in our nervous system.
I am referring to unconscious blocks and limiting beliefs that solidify in engrained behavioural patterns, for example. Suppressed, unresolved emotions. Loss of connection with real needs. Attachment wounds. Not enough of that vital energy that is so critical for sustained health and wellbeing. The list can be long.
As a health practitioner, I came to understand that taking care of all of these ‘other’ factors is essential to unlock a deeper level of healing — a renewal that involves the whole person.
And this is what holistic health coaching and mentoring can help with, and the reason why I made a point of specialising in supporting clients in this way.

Becoming Proactive in Your Wellbeing
Holistic health coaching is about working together to identify and overcome those blocks (both internal or external), which keep you from moving forward and living in a state of wholeness and vitality.
Who is the expert in this context?
The basis of this work is in co-creation.
You, as the real expert, hold the inner wisdom regarding your unique needs, values, and what feels true to you. What I can do as a coach is to help you access that inner voice more easily.

I help you see what you need in order to shift into a more aligned and authentic way of living and of taking care of your health.
My role therefore changes from expert advisor to a guide who helps you access the answers you already hold within, to connect you with your own truth.
What do you need?
Another important aspect of health coaching is to help you identify any additional resources you may need to succeed in your pathway to better health and wellbeing. Other modalities, complementary therapies, other practitioners even.
This helps restore your sense of agency and empower you to make choices that are in true alignment with your specific needs.
This whole-person approach can be particularly effective for those recovering from cancer or seeking to prevent recurrence. Recent research highlighted by Dr Rosy Daniel and the Society of Integrative Oncology confirms that supporting not only the physical but also the emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of the disease can directly influence health outcomes and quality of life.
A Holistic Approach for Deep Nourishment
What underpins this approach is that the body cannot heal by staying in ‘survival mode’.
When we live with the chronic stress, fear, or anxiety that often accompanies a health challenge, our autonomic nervous system gets stuck in an "alarm state" that is designed for imminent danger, but not long-term renewal. When it’s constantly activated, it interferes with the very functions essential for recovery, like our immune system, digestion, and metabolism.
The body is constantly trying to heal but we need to bring the nervous system into a balanced state, a state of mind-body ‘coherence’, where this ability is activated.

A whole-person approach provides the tools and gentle support to help you regulate your nervous system, creating the safe internal space needed to optimal function.
By shifting the body out of survival mode, we create the optimal conditions for healing to occur, allowing all other treatments and therapies to become profoundly more effective.
